On Saturday, October 5, 2013, Cameron The Public returned to Cameron’s hometown of Salt Lake City to play a sold-out show at the State Room. Hosted by Utah local celebrity Deena Marie, the October 5 show also featured Provo-based band We Are The Strike and Utah pop-soul artist Mimi Knowles. Utah’s Pinup Jane photography was also at the show, providing pinup girls who took the stage with Cameron The Public during “Apple Pie,” to celebrate the impending video release of the hit song.
Cameron The Public played the October 5, show to raise money for the Tyler Robinson Foundation-created by Imagine Dragons in honor of Tyler Robinson, who died of cancer at age 17. Tyler was also Cameron Rafati's cousin. The foundation raises money to help families afford cancer treatment. Proceeds raised at the CTP show were donated to the Tyler Robinson Foundation through ticket sales and merchandise purchases.
The evening was nothing short of spectacular and by the time Cameron The Public finished the show, fans were screaming for more; buzzing off of the band’s contagious energy. Social media sites were blowing up with posts about the October 5 show, citing it as one of CTP’s best performances in Utah. The band looks forward to its next opportunity to play in Cameron’s hometown.
